Rain Rain Go Away

May 9

After yesterday, any weather is an improvement. Today has had some rain, but things are improving. We didn’t chance a ride, but did take a hike with a picnic. There is this old one way bridge, Pont de Garrit, from 1894 made in the Eiffel Tower style. There is a sign that talks about the bridge in French , English and Occitan. Of course Greg can read all 3. Slightly annoyed and jealous. :-)
In this picture you see the old bridge, the new bridge and a few swans sprinkled in for effect.
On our walk home, we stopped by the grocery store for a few supplies. Did I mention businesses shut down from 12:30-2 for lunch. We made it in, but it’s strange to see the relaxed pace of life. As you walk /drive into the parking lot you have a number of self-service items at your disposal. A car wash, a block of 4 washing machines that can handle up to 18kg of laundry. That’s like 40lbs and they are just sitting under a little wood roof. Pam...you don’t even have to be home to get your laundry fix. My all-time favorite is the automated pizza kiosk. We could smell something baking. We definitely need to see what this is all about.
A quiet, relaxing day.
